My Story

Hi, my name is Demi.

My journey as a practitioner began when my daughter was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

At the age of 8, she noticed some small white patches on the insides of her arms and thighs.  After being wrongly diagnosed for the next 2-3 years by western medicine, we found out that she had an autoimmune condition called vitiligo; her immune system was destroying the pigment in her skin.

Mainstream medicine had no answers for us, they could only offer strong steroid creams, which she did use for a few years. Despite some pigmentation, it was always only temporary. These creams have many side effects and do not deal with the cause of the problem, allowing it to progress and get worse over time. Over about 5 years, the white patches continued to spread and get larger, until almost her whole body had no pigmentation. Furthermore, the creams left her with damaged skin and a supressed immune system.

At this point, I decided to start researching and studying to find a way to help my child – this was when I found The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM), and everything changed. Here, I studied Naturopathic and Functional medicine and learned to ask WHY…

The body is extremely intelligent and there is always reason for everything it does.  I’ve subsequently learnt that nearly all autoimmune conditions have a toxicity and/or infectious component to them, and the gut microbiome and gut integrity have a big part to play.  Additionally, it’s very common with autoimmune conditions to develop another, via something called epitope spreading, highlighting the importance of getting to the root cause of the problem.

We are influenced by everything we encounter, whether that be environmental toxins or biotoxins (generated by pathogens in the body), heavy metals, diet, and emotional stressors. When the body reaches its threshold and can no longer cope, these stressors manifest into chronic conditions.

Everyone is unique; often, two people presenting with the same condition will have different aetiologies and would therefore require different protocols to heal.

5 years later, I am a qualified Naturopathic Nutritionist running my own clinic in North London, with a diploma from CNM.  Through studying ozone therapy after my diploma, I dug deeper into the physiology and functions of the immune system and how much of a powerful healing tool ozone can be. I am a qualified ozone therapist, a member of the ANP, GNC and MORI. At my clinic, I also offer Pulse Electromagnetic Frequency (PEMF) therapy and infrared sauna therapy.

I specialise in chronic conditions such as: autoimmune, chronic infections (including viral), mitochondrial dysfunction/fatigue, liver and gall-bladder complications, metabolic disorders (such as insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease), and gut-brain imbalances.  I believe we all have the power to heal ourselves; our aim is to identify and remove the obstacles that are stopping us from healing and let the body do the rest…
